Vote for Weston Youth Services!  Cast your ballot and come on over to the Senior Center where we will be holding our first Election Day mini-camp!  Children in grades K-5 can explore aerospace and chemical engineering or the world of the Jedi using Legos in workshops offered from 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. on Tuesday November 3rd.  

Registration begins on Wednesday, October 21st at 10:01 p.m.
 
Engineering for Kids Workshop (K- 5th grade)
Minimum # of students:  10 participants
Maximum # of students:  16 participants
Fee:  $ 65.00
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 3rd
 
Students will explore aerospace and chemical engineering and be able to take home the projects they create in this interactive workshop.
 
3 , 2 , 1 ....  BlastOff !! - Students will use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test and refine their very own flying machine.  Learn all about rocket design and construct your very own air powered rocket that actually takes flight! 
 
Secret Inkers And Shiny Pennies – Students will learn about acids & bases, and explore what happens when you mix them together.  Create your own invisible ink and investigate the anti-oxidizing properties of common chemicals.

Engineering For Kids provides entertaining and educational programs focused on science, technology, engineering, and math.  Their inquiry based workshops are designed to offer an exciting, fun, hands-on experience to foster children’s problem solving skills.

Your young Jedis won’t have to wait until December for the premiere of Star Wars: Episode VII!  Defeat the Empire by designing and refining LEGO® X-Wings, R2-units, and settlements on far-flung edges of the galaxy. Students will use imagination and engineering to create motorized and architectural projects such as energy catapults, shield generators and defense turrets.  Note: Projects will not go home with students!
