For Students Entering Grades 1-9

MUSIC AND THEATER CAMPS

 
Creative Arts/Enrichment Camp (for students Entering Grades 3-8)
If you love Creative Modern Dance, Music, Theatre Arts, Movement, Art, and Cooking, come join our very talented team of professionals as we celebrate our 14th year camp program! 
 
This full day 3 ½ week camp offers students a setting where improvisation and creativity explode!  Campers will collaborate during the day to create their own work in dance and music while coming together in choreographed ensemble numbers.  Art projects will be used to complement the theme of the camp. 

Each day will conclude with our cooking component which will include the preparation of delicious appetizers, entrees, baked goods and more!
 
Students will culminate the program with a performance on the final day!  Now expanded to include students entering Grades 7 and 8! 

 
Dates: June 26th - July 19th (no class July 4th)

Stretch, Sing, Imagine, and Perform - A Musical Theatre and Yoga Program (for students entering grades 1-3)
Start your day off right with Michelle, who takes a fun and creative approach to yoga! Through the use of animated poses and basic stretching exercises, yoga can promote strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness. It can improve concentration and focus, stimulate their imagination and help to release energy in a fun, safe environment!
 
After a full body warm up with Michelle, campers will be ready to enter the world of Musical Theatre with Jodi! Campers will learn the basics of musical theatre, developing skills in acting, movement, and voice, including basic vocal technique and acting skills discovering, using songs and selected scenes from The WIZARD OF OZ!

Youth Theater Camp (for students entering grades 4 through 8)

Calling all actors, singers, dancers and stage crew!!! This full day musical theater camp gives students the opportunity to participate in all aspects of a full-scale ensemble production including professional sound, lighting, costumes, and sets, concluding with a fully staged production at Weston Intermediate School.  This program is for young performers who are interested in musical theater and children interested in the technical aspects of theater.  This program provides children with a knowledge and appreciation of the theatrical process. Preparation for a production is a team effort and will be a fun experience for all! Auditions take place the first two days of camp.
 
Enrollment is limited and is on a first come, first served basis and a WAITING LIST will be created for students who don’t make the enrollment cut off.  Please review the FAQs page for details.

Junior Band Camp (for students entering grades 6-8)

This half day band camp will provide intermediate band students with an opportunity to create music together and prepare for a showcase concert at the end of the week.  In addition to a full band rehearsal with their peers, campers will work with the director in small groups to enhance instrumental performance skills.  Students must be currently enrolled in a school band program and must provide their own instrument. ** Students entering sixth grade will be placed in the appropriate level by instructors

Junior Orchestra Camp (for students entering grades 6-8)

This half day orchestra camp will provide intermediate strings students with an opportunity to create music together and prepare for a showcase concert at the end of the week.  In addition to a full orchestra rehearsal with their peers, campers will work with the director in small groups to enhance instrumental performance skills.  Students must be currently enrolled in a school strings program and must provide their own instrument

Beginning Band Camp (for students entering grades 5 and 6)

This half day band camp will provide beginning band students with an opportunity to create music together and prepare for a showcase concert at the end of the week.  In addition to a full band rehearsal with their peers, campers will work with the director in small groups to begin or advance their basic instrumental techniques.  Students enrolling in the school band program for the upcoming year will receive their instrument assignment in June and must provide their own instrument.  Students currently enrolled in a school band program must provide their own instrument. ** Students entering sixth grade will be placed in the appropriate level by instructors.

Beginning Orchestra Camp (for students entering grades 4 and 5)

This half day orchestra camp with provide beginning string players with an opportunity to explore stringed instruments and create music together.  Campers will work with the director in small groups and in full orchestra rehearsal. No previous strings experience is necessary.

Piano Lab (for students entering Grades 4-8)

This half day camp will accommodate the beginning to advanced piano student.  Using our state of the art digital music lab, children will engage in activities using digital piano software and will develop beginning to advanced piano skills.  No previous piano experience is necessary.

COOKING CAMP
 
 
International Cuisine (for students entering Grades 7-9)
Why stop at only one type of cuisine when you can have a taste of the whole world?  Spend the week traveling the world engaging in cuisine from different regions!
 
Enter our International Cooking camp and learn how to prepare delicious and refreshing meals and treats for you and the whole family. We will take advantage of the summer bounty and a three hour long class to make dishes sparkling with freshness and summer goodness. We will have a little time to work on some simple crafts that you can bring home and put to good use right away. Hot dishes, cold soups, fresh fruit, yeast breads, yummy desserts, slow-cooking meats...all of these are possible in our International Cooking camp. Bring a willingness to explore new tastes and enjoy old favorites.  Note: Items used in this program may contain nuts or gluten or may be processed on shared equipment with nuts or gluten. Please note we cannot accommodate individual dietary needs or restrictions at all times.

SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING CAMPS

The I’s of Science: Investigate, Illuminate, Improvise, Imagine, Invent (for students entering grades 4-6)
Come join the fun as we use the Science I's to investigate, illuminate, improvise, imagine, and invent! We will take apart various electronic devices to discover what is inside and try to figure out how things work. After this investigation we will use our imaginations to "invent" something new, improve upon an existing product, or create a device to accomplish a specific task. 
 
Dates: July 1st – July 12th (no class July 4th)     
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Engineering with Legos/Hobby Time (for students entering grades 1-3 and grades 4-6) 
Let your imagination run wild with over 100,000 pieces of LEGO®! Build engineer designed projects such as boats, bridges, mazes, and motorized cars. Explore the endless creative possibilities of the LEGO® building system.  For students in the upper grades, campers will be challenged with ventures such as arch bridges, motorized gondolas, and the Battletrack!
 
Hobby Time is a great opportunity for campers to learn how things work!  Projects include working with model rockets that campers will build and shoot up to the sky!  We will also engage in paper airplanes, set up model trains, and so much more!
